General questions

Where are you located?

Most of the year I’m in Bali, Indonesia where we produce the pieces. You can meet me at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show each year in late January. If you’d like to be on our mailing list for that show, please send us your email address.

How do I order?

You may order online through the secure website or you are welcome to contact us using our contact form.

How do I pay you?

We take Credit Cards and PayPal from our secure site. If for some reason you can’t use these, please contact us for other possibilities of payment.

Do you do custom orders?

Yes, World on a String prides itself on producing specific designs for people. Please contact us with a good drawing or photograph of what you’d like created for you. We will need dimensions and if applicable color choices. Once we understand the design we’ll send you an estimate for the cost.

Why is my item not the same color as the picture online?

Not all monitors show colors the same so what we post from our computer may vary in color on your computer or device. We do our best to show items as accurately as possible.

Product Delivery/Shipping

How much is shipping and handling?

We calculate the cost of your shipping based on the weight and destination of your package plus a small handling charge.

Mostly we ship from Bali and use Express Mail Service from the Post Office. We are not responsible for uninsured orders. We do not ship COD.

* Please note that not all States in the USA allow the sale of mammoth tusk. If you are in California, New York, New Jersey or Hawaii we can ship everything except mammoth tusk there.

How soon will I receive my order?

Bali has frequent ceremonies when all work stops so baring any of those most orders will ship within 5-10 business days. Please let us know if you are on a deadline. We do our best to ship quickly. We always ship with care and respect for our products.

Because we ship from Bali we can’t guarantee how long it will take to reach you in your country. This depends on customs and transport within your country. But mostly when we send Express Mail Service you will receive your order within 12 days.

What is your returns policy?

World on a String stands behind the products we make and are confident that you’ll find your order goes beyond your expectations. If however you aren’t satisfied with your order due to a defect or damage in shipping, please contact us immediately for instructions and a Return Authorization Number (RA#). We’ll gladly exchange your purchase, provided we are contacted within 7 days of receipt of the order.

There will be no credit or exchange if we determine the item has been used or worn.

Credit will be applied to your account for use towards future purchases.

What should I do if my order hasn't been delivered yet?

Please contact us with the details of your order and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Please note that items posted from Bali can take up to 14 days to deliver.


How do I set up a wholesale account?

You can apply for a Wholesale account here.

Once we determine that you are a wholesale customer we will create an account for you so that you can view the wholesale part of the website. Simply login with those account details on our Wholesale page to enjoy Wholesale pricing.

What is the minimum purchase required for wholesale?

  • 8 pieces of finished jewelry (necklaces and earrings)
  • 12 pendents (carvings only – no cord or beading)
  • 3 sculptures or alter pieces
